Homeless Man Series

Homelessness is growing problem in the United States. I live in Arizona, but I spend summers in Portland, Oregon, where the homeless problem is particularly bad. I find it hard to answer my grandchildren’s questions about these people. These works are constructed from pieces of laser cut plywood, left unpainted, and assembled in layers. The images are enhanced by deep shadows from the layering and the contrasts created by the horizontal and vertical wood grain.
